Why the Left Wages War on Religion

In a recent speech, Nevada Republican nominee for US Senator, Sharron Angle said,

“And these programs …are all entitlement programs built to make government our God. And that’s really what’s happening in this country is a violation of the First Commandment. We have become a country entrenched in idolatry, and that idolatry is the dependency upon our government.”

This statement just doesn’t have some ring of truth to it; it is entirely and profoundly true.

As much as the hard left may deny it, they truly do want government to control every aspect and daily decision of our lives to the point that government will be much like a god. In fact, they want the ideological religion that underpins their agenda to be everyone’s religion. The same leftists, who quote Karl Marx (one of their heroes) as saying “religion is the opiate of the people,” by no strange coincidence think it’s Christian religion they regard as the opiate of the people [Marx was referring to Orthodox Russia], and they want their leftist, liberal, new age big government ideology to be the new religion that will be the opiate of the people. In short, they’re not against the people drinking Kool Aid, they just want to be sure you are drinking their Kool Aid.

There are two terms that, it is important, are clearly defined here: Religion and leftist liberals or leftists.

For the purposes here, religion is essentially any basically Christian religion including that of Catholics, all denominations of protestants, any form of Judaism, etc.

Leftists, or what many call leftwing liberals, are those who are fully committed to an ideology of group rights and government authority over individual liberty, collectivist economics, extreme environmental agendas (that place almost anything else natural as more important than human beings) and consistent opposition to the right of human life including support for abortion, euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, suicide itself, etc. Many leftists or leftwing liberals may view themselves as moderates and are not yet signed off on the entire agenda but they are working on it, or eventually will come to renounce leftism. No leftist is a good politically correct leftist until they have bought into the entire program and commit themselves not only to drinking but also serving the Kool Aid. When you find yourself in an argument with someone telling you that you’re helping to destroy the planet by drinking bottled water, and eating meat and how many gallons of water it takes to produce a pound of steak you’re also contributing to global warming (they call it climate change now), you know you are talking to a fully committed leftist.

There are reasons leftists are so opposed to Christian religions (and they love Islam but that’s another topic) because they are absolutely opposed to the teachings of such religions. Likewise, their bitter opposition to the values and principles contained in the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution that founded our nation. [Over 70% of the founders were non-freemasons, unlike today, where over 90% are freemasons.] We are, as those documents state, a nation founded under God that recognizes our God-given individual rights, the rights to life, liberty, property, etc. Leftists are very much against all of those; they don’t support human life they support abortion, drugs, hedonism, euthanasia, etc. Leftists don’t support liberty because they don’t trust you enough to make your own decisions. You might choose to eat meat and contribute to alleged global warming. You won’t raise your children the way THEY think you should, so they’d like your children to be warehoused in state-run schools at the earliest possible age because they believe the government raises your kids better (and does everything else better) than you can. Leftists do not support private property because they don’t really believe anyone on earth owns anything. It’s only for the purposes of abortion they like to say you own your body, but for all other purposes, they believe the government owns you.

A society and a country based on God-given individual rights and a government that governs only by the consent of the people, rather than people, who can only act on the consent of the government, is a free society. Leftists really are not for a free society, or the great institutions that a free society has created. That is why leftists have undertaken a long term campaign, not a conspiracy but a very organized effort, to undermine and topple all the institutions of free society. So leftists wage war against Christian religion, on marriage as we know it, by seeking to impose on an unwilling society the concept of “same sex marriage” to destroy the institution of marriage, and now also the use of the extreme environmental agenda to destroy the economy with regulations and taxes and deny you your right to simple things like eating meat or driving your car. Leftists are ultimately Luddites that would take human existence back to the Stone Age.

Leftists know that they will be unable to control the masses and bring about the full realization of their secular socialist utopia if people still believe in the values that from which founded our society. Ultimately, leftists know most of you will have to be converted to their secular-socialist ideology and religion so you will support their radical transformation of society. [Or be exterminated, as carved in granite on the Georgia Guide Stones!]

Every individual narrow PART of the secular-socialist agenda is packaged and sold in an attractive manner designed to make even the most reasonable of intelligent individuals think it sounds good. Surely you can’t be opposed to “social justice” for the poor. Leftists will urge you to jump on the crusade to stop evil corporate executives from paying themselves millions and tell you that is YOUR money they pay to themselves. Eating meat is bad because it takes more land and water to raise a cow for food than who knows how many bushels of corn or tomatoes or whatever. So they’re justified in telling you today you shouldn’t eat meat, and tomorrow will use global warming as the reason they’ll have the government force you to stop eating meat. They would love to force you to ride a bicycle to work while they travel in style in fleets of luxury SUVs. Leftists are great for being hypocrites too. Which well-known leftist politician doesn’t send his or her children to an expensive private school while paying public lip service to support government run schools?
